GMO free

GMO - (genetic modified) is a term used to identify foods (vegetables and animals) in which the DNA has been modified. In beekeeping there are cases bees and blossom are genetically modified, and even in organic certified honey you can find genetically modified bee and/or blossom. The term organic is given because the bee and blossom were not chemical treated.
World debates concerning the benefits of GMO foods for production increase, but poor study continuos of how GMO foods can affect us, our children, our grandchildren and ecosystems. Most consumers know this and are turning their attention to organic and natural foods, which is the fastest growing supermarket category.
FOREST HONEY is produced by
Brazilian native bees, of the killerbee family, which are hard to raise, but strong against
varroa mites and other aliens to the hive. Beekeepers are only capable of raising them in their native forests (
GMO free).
